A Wake-Up Call to a Confused Generation Searching for God in the Wrong Places
Let’s be honest this statement hits different:
“If Church is a scam, Shrine is what?” 🤔
It’s the kind of question that makes you pause, laugh awkwardly, and then stare into space with a thousand thoughts running through your mind.
Because let’s face it we’re living in confusing times. Spiritual confusion. Religious disappointment. False hope packaged with scriptures. People don’t even know who or what to trust anymore.
And just like that, you hear someone whisper:
“The church is a scam jare.”
And then another responds:
“Omo, Shrine sef dey give results.”
But wait. Before we jump from one fire into another, let’s unpack what’s really going on here.
Why Do People Think Church Is a Scam?
Let’s keep it real.
People aren’t calling the Church a scam because they hate God. No. In fact, most of them are broken-hearted believers people who once believed with all their hearts, who gave, who served, who hoped… and who were burned.
They were told:
- “Sow this seed and your sickness will disappear.”
- “Give this offering and your business will explode.”
- “Buy this anointed oil and your enemy will die.”
And they believed. But nothing changed.
Instead, they saw pastors living like kings, building empires, buying jets, while the congregation remained in poverty, confusion, and fear.
So naturally, the conclusion came:
“This thing is a scam.”
Then Comes the Shrine… the So-Called ‘Raw’ Spiritual Power
Some people, tired of feeling played, now run to the shrines places where “you give and you get.” Simple transaction. No tithe. No worship songs. No long sermon. Just: bring the goat, take the charm.
Sounds honest, right?
At least they don’t pretend.
But here’s the catch: the price is far greater than money.
The Shrine gives you power, yes. But that power often comes with blood ties, bondage, and sacrifices that go beyond the physical. What you gain in speed, you may lose in soul. What you call solution may be the beginning of another chain.
So while you say:
“The Church scammed me,”
You may walk straight into the arms of something darker, something deeper… something that doesn’t just take your money it takes your peace.
Let’s Pause: Is the Problem the Church or the People in It?
Think about it.
- The Church is supposed to be a house of truth, healing, and transformation.
- The Shrine is supposed to be a place of spiritual reverence in traditional settings.
But both can be abused when placed in the hands of corrupt men.
It’s not the cross that scammed you it’s the man behind the microphone.
It’s not the Bible that lied it’s the interpreter twisting it for profit.
In the end, the problem is not God, not even the structure it’s the human heart when driven by greed, power, and manipulation.
Don’t Let Your Pain Push You Into Darkness
Here’s the part many miss:
You’re not foolish for seeking answers.
You’re not weak because you believed.
You’re just hungry for something real and that’s not a bad thing.
But don’t let the wound from a fake pastor push you into the arms of an ancient trap. Don’t let your disappointment with Church drive you to embrace spiritual chains disguised as shortcuts.
Because God is not in the scam.
God is not in the shrine.
God is in truth.
And truth doesn’t demand a goat, a seed, or a spiritual price tag to set you free.
So, What’s the Way Forward?
Stop chasing religion. Start seeking relationship.
Don’t follow power pursue purpose.
Don’t fall for results look for righteousness.
God is not hiding in the Church building, and He’s certainly not trapped in a shrine.
He’s waiting for you not your money, not your sacrifice. Just you. Your honesty. Your hunger. Your heart.
Final Truth Bomb
So again we ask:
“If Church is a scam, Shrine is what?”
It’s not a joke. It’s not shade.
It’s a wake-up call.
Because the real question should be:
If you’ve been scammed by religion, will you let pain lead you into more bondage or will you rise and find God for yourself?
The answer isn’t in Church vs Shrine.
The answer is in truth vs deception.
And the truth is: God is real, and He still speaks to those who truly seek Him.
Not for show.
Not for profit.
But for freedom.
